 Messagefrom the Lower School Head
Dear Lower School Students,
As I write this letter the sun is out, the sky is blue and teachers are relishing a warm blast o f spring weather by being outside with their students for a lengthy recess, reading with their classes, and more. Even a music class is taking place outside at the moment! It is wonderful to see the excitement in the eyes of so many o f you as you are actively engaged in enriching activities, working closely with your talented, caring teachers on our beautiful campus.
This has been a truly fantastic year, which I have thoroughly enjoyed, This year has been full of hard work and has been a great learning experience for all of us. We have learned a lot and participated in many fun and exciting projects. W e have worked hard, but made time for creativity and joy, too.
Students, you bring such happiness to our school. We are truly fortunate to have such a wonderful group of children at The Wardlaw-Hartridge Lower School. Y ou have touched this school by your presence and contribution to our tightly-knit community.
Parents, it has been my pleasure getting to know not only your child, but you as well. Having parental support and open lines of communication is an essential part of any successful school year. Thank you for all you have done to make our year so fulfilling and memorable.
To our magnificent fifth grade students who are preparing to embark on a new journey into Middle School, I want to share a special message with you. At this stage of your life, it is very important that you step up and take charge of your path, not to feel like you are a victim of circumstance or fate, but, together with your parensts, be the active participant you should be in your future. Where you choose to focus your time and energy will directly impact what comes to you later in life. I encourage you to work hard in Middle School, set goals for school and the other parts of your life, and stay focused on those goals. Mix a healthy and joyful balance in your work, but keep your eyes on your goals and do not let anyone, anything deter you from achieving them. I
look forward to seeing you do just that through your Middle School years.
And I cannot wait to see all of our students throughout the Lower School pushing off into another great year come September. But first, summer!
Colleagues, students and families, thank you for an excellent year, I wish you a fantastic summer.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Granados
Assistant Head of School for Lower and Middle School Dean of Studies PreK-Grade 12
