Stay with nature at Rayong Botanical Garden

Surrounded by swamps and a diversity of plants and aquatic animals, Rayong Botanical Garden is an ideal place for outdoor activities in the nature; such as, biking, kayaking, and jogging.
Bueng Samnak Yai is a freshwater basin surrounded by the large Cajuput tree (Melaleuca cajuputi) forest, dry evergreen forest and amazing biodiversity. The 3-km. nature trail provides a lot of interesting stories. Visitors can take a stroll or ride a bike, and see unusual endemic plants; for example, Melaleuca cajuputi, Syzygium gratum, Irvingia malayana (wild almond), Cratoxylum formosum (Jack) Dyer., Malabar melastome, and leaf edible plants like Malabar melastome, Stenochlaena palustris, etc.
If taking a boat ride through the swamp, visitors can enjoy a wide range of water fowl of both endemic and migrant birds; such as, Asian Openbill, Lesser Whistling Duck, Little Cormorant, Purple Swamphen, and Oriental Darter amid the pink water lily and Indian lotus swamp blossoming in the morning and paddle to observe the pretty yellow flowers of golden bladderwort as well as a marshland called “Ya Nang Ma”, where they can enjoy walking on it.
Besides being a center of collecting plant species in the Eastern region, the Botanical Garden plants a variety of tree species for selling at a reasonable price.
Spare some time for just one day to visit the swamp and expansive Cajuput tree forest situated not far from Rayong’s sea, and you will find this as an unforgettable experience.
