Welcome to the Plum Digital Learning Academy!
The Plum Borough School District is excited to offer our Plum Digital Learning Academy (PLDA) to all of our K-12 students. PDLA is designed to offer our students an opportunity to learn in a remote setting while still remaining connected to the Plum Borough School District. Through PDLA, our students will enroll in asynchronous online courses that will be monitored by our Plum Borough School District teachers. Students will work independently within a schedule that meets their needs. Why would one choose the Plum Borough Digital Learning Academy? We are glad you asked!
The Plum Borough Digital Learning Academy offers the following to our students:
● Certified and highly-qualified Plum teachers available for assistance
● Elective course options
● Courses are available 7 days a week and 24 hours a day
● 1:1 technology learning device
● Participation in all PBSD athletics and extracurricular activities
● Access to all services provided by PBSD
● Receive a Plum Senior High School diploma
The Plum Digital Learning Academy is designed as an asynchronous learning environment where students can create a custom schedule to complete assignments for each of their courses. The expectation is that students will work at a pace that will keep them aligned with completing the course on schedule with the regular school year. Research has shown that creating structure and following routines is critical for students to find success when managing multiple online courses. Even though students will be working remotely, our teachers, counselors, and administrators are available to assist each student as needed.
