No one could have been happier to have survived a haftorah. The photograph is notable not just for my style, but also, and more important, for the fact that just over my right shoulder can be glimpsed the recipient of the $1.00 valentine in the third grade, Harriet Levin, and a side view of my best friend, Joe Chassler.
