She also serves as Director of PRISE (Program on Research, Innovations and Scholarship in Education) and the Scholars in Medical Education Pathway in the BWH Department of Medicine. She serves to expand our BEI community and connect with educators throughout the globe through unique educational programming.
 BEI GLOBAL MEDICAL EDUCATION CAFÉ
Our bimonthly Global Medical Education Café sessions aim to promote conversations on teaching and learning among BWH educators and a global community of educators. The goals are to: 1) expand the community of BWH educators and motivate external collaborations; 2) reflect on common educational challenges and co-construct solutions and promote aware- ness of the learning culture at different regions of the world; and 3) adopt and adapt ideas from other institutions. Each session focuses on an educational topic or problem moderated by an international educational leader with expertise in the area. The expert provides an overview of this topic, after which participants work on a specific task in small groups and report back to the expert. The session concludes with a summary of key points, reflections and new questions on the topic.
MENTORS ACROSS BORDERS
Mentors across Borders (MAB) is an informally formed community of educational scholars and leaders, who have organized speed mentoring workshops at conferences, virtual world café sessions and collaborated in scholarship. The group started as workshop co-presenters and the community was maintained through collective scholarly activities and now offers periodic virtual workshops. The mentors represent many continents including Australia, Asia (Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia), Europe (United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Portugal), Canada and the United States. The aim is to facilitate global conversations on important educational topics and problems in a safe environment. Participants are encouraged to share their own success stories and offered potential solutions to others’ challenges. Topics have included teaching and learning during the pandemic, leading and managing change in difficult circumstances, engaging learners in co-creation of education, and career development in challenging situations. MAB now has 5 peer reviewed publications and is currently writing an AMEE guide on collaborative writing.
