ABOUT ARCS FOUNDATION OREGON
Our Impact in Ac6on
• ARCS Founda,on Oregon’s awards help Oregon’s top research universi,es recruit the most
promising young scien,sts to our state.
• We have awarded $7.2 million in unrestricted funds to 428 PhD scholars since our chapter’s
founding in 2004.
• Since 2005, over 90% of ARCS scholars successfully completed their PhD degree.
• Annually, we support 90+ ARCS Scholars all of whom are PhD students. The scholar award is
$6,000 each year for three years. Annually, over $540K is raised and allocated for Scholar
Awards.
• Our university partners approved by ARCS Founda,on:
o OHSU – Schools of Medicine and Nursing, OHSU/PSU School of Public Health
o OSU – Colleges of Agricultural Sciences; Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences;
Engineering; Forestry; Pharmacy; Science; Graduate School
o UO – Department of Biology, Department of Chemistry, Department of Human
Physiology, Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelera,ng Scien,fic Impact, and
UO/OSU Joint Bioengineering Program
• Our efforts have fostered a vast alumni network of leaders in science, medicine, technology, and
engineering. Many are holding influen,al posi,ons in healthcare, academia, government, and
the private sector. ARCS Founda,on Oregon alumni are leaders at NASA, Agility Robo,cs,
NuScale, Twist Bioscience, Pfizer, Intel, EPA, Kaiser Permanente, Stanford University, TerraPower,
