Johnson Scholarship Foundation Grant/Florida Atlantic University Matching Grant Report, April 30, 2022
The Johnson Foundation Scholarship grant awarded to Florida Atlantic University specifies certain matching requirements. FAU is reporting on its progress with these matching funds during the project period, year to date (September-August).
The grant with the Johnson Foundation was not signed until late December 2021, although the intent was to begin year 1 of the program (September, 2021-August, 2022).
I. State of Florida 2:1 matching funds for first-generation scholarships.
In the fall of 2021, FAU did submit to the Florida State Matching grant program, documenting certain FAU funds to qualify for the state match. While technically FAU met this requirement, we were unable to use the Johnson Foundation grant of $200,000 as it was not received by the due date for the report. Therefore, FAU will utilize this grant in the upcoming fundraising period to qualify for the 2:1 state matching funds during the fall of 2022.
II. Private matching funds
FAU raised funds for first-generation scholarships and the Office of First-Generation Student Success during the period of September-April 30 (YTD). We have exceeded the matching requirement and report the following gifts:
