Dear Mr. Krause,
After 2 years, IAIA is pleased to report that we have completed spend down of the Johnson Foundation - 2020 Covid-19 Grant.
With the generous support of the Johnson Foundation, we have been able to provide our students and community:
• $20,097.88 in computer equipment and remote class supplies
o Allowed hundreds of students to continue their courses and degrees
while protecting themselves, their families, and their communities
• $9,902.12 in food assistance to students dealing with food insecurity
o Stocked our campus pantry three times, providing supplemental food to over 200 students who remained living on-campus each year
o Issued nearly 150 food cards to students living off-campus
• $10,000.00 in online course development and online instruction training
o Provided 2 rounds of summer online course training for over 30 faculty and adjuncts
o Developed a brand-new course delivery format “Hyflex” which allows us to offer simultaneously online and in-person courses
o Created virtual placement testing to help support incoming students
This grant has been instrumental in supporting the most crucial needs of our students and provided IAIA the flexibility to fill the significant gaps which exist in the state and federal covid funding.
Thank you again for your unwavering support and please let me know if you have any questions,
Sincerely Yours,
Felipe J. Estudillo Colón
