DALHOUSIE UNIVERSITY REPORT – HEALTH PROFESSIONS
May 30, 2023
Mr. Robert Krause
CEO
Johnson Scholarship Foundation
810 – 505 South Flagler Drive
West Palm Beach, FL 33401-5952, USA
Dear Bobby:
It is my pleasure to provide you with the 2022-23 annual report for the Johnson Scholarship Foundation’s Pathways Scholarship. Your generous support provides financial assistance to Indigenous and/or African Nova Scotian students in the health professions.
This past year, your endowment awarded $55,000 in Pathways Scholarships to 11 talented and deserving students. Pursuing careers in diverse disciplines – from Medicine to Nursing to Dental Hygiene – the Johnson Pathways Scholarships provide these historically disadvantaged students with opportunities.
Scholarship recipient Haylee Noylander said it best in her attached letter of thanks:
“I believe that scholarships such as these are essential in promoting a diverse and accessible opportunity for students of African Nova Scotian descent...I appreciate your commitment to supporting Nova Scotia’s BIPOC community in reaching its goals and supporting its people”
Over the past three years since the scholarship was first awarded, a total of 35 students have shared $185,000 in funding support. Of these, 25 students identified as African Nova Scotian and 10 identified as Indigenous. Three students identified as both.
On behalf of Dalhousie University and students for whom you have opened doors of opportunity, thank you.
Sincerely,
Victoria Hamilton
Senior Director of Development
