CEO REPORT
We are currently scheduled to move our office to Clematis One in April. The Flagler Center has continued to extend our rental agreement on a monthly basis.
The transitioning of our financial processes and reporting to QuickBooks is nearly complete. Audit Consultant Buzz Howard has worked closely with Dick and Kiwi Partners since November. The goals of this project were to streamline our reporting, standardize our financial processes and update our accounting.
ANNUAL REPORT:
The 2021 Annual Report was published on January 31. Moving our publication up from the Fall to the first month of the year required a very compressed workload. While the publication is a team effort of our staff, Lady serves as the lead in this project. I am grateful for her diligence to produce a quality report and deliver it on time in such a compressed schedule.
CONTINUING EDUCATION:
I’d like to suggest a summer series of continuing education that would include 2 or 3 Zoom events. One option would be to address common themes raised during grant application discussions.
For example:
Matching - When is it important? What should we consider as match dollars? Should our grant agreements be “up to?”
Sustainability - What does that mean? Why is it important? What does it look like? Are there other topics Directors would prefer to address?
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
I continue to develop professional relationships with colleagues from sister organizations like Braulio Colon of the Helios Education Foundation. The recent Annual Conference of the Florida Philanthropic Network in Orlando was a meaningful time of networking for me. I continue to meet with Malcolm on a monthly basis and that continues to be very beneficial.
CONSULTANTS:
I have reached out to each of our JSF Consultants, and they have all expressed an enthusiastic interest to continue their service to JSF. I ask the Board to approve their reappointment.
DILIGENT BOARDS/ WEBSITE PORTAL:
Migration of our historical material continues to evolve.
OTHER MATTERS:
The Center for Effective Philanthropy has been engaged to conduct a Grantee Perception Report. That project is underway.
