Financial Update
Table 5 provides information on the total funds the Board of Governors office disbursed
to each institution for fall 2024 and the total foundation/university matching funds made
available. The table also shows the total scholarship monies available to Johnson
scholars by institution and the total scholarship monies disbursed to the scholars.
Five universities reported the total award amounts available were not fully disbursed
during the fall 2024 term.1 These funds may be awarded to scholars for the 2024
spring and summer terms. Institutions are permitted to use funds from other sources,
such as Challenge Grant matching funds raised by the institution to support this
program. Five universities disbursed more than the total award amounts available
during the fall 2024 term.2 Any monies not awarded for Academic Year 2024-2025
must be returned to the Board of Governors Foundation for future Johnson Scholarship
use by June 15, 2025.
