One effort towards securing donors is to reconnect with the 30 years of AIBL alumni. Part of the current 3-year strategic plan is wrapping alumni back into the organization as mentors, Board members or Advisory Board members, and as advocates within their workplaces for corporate involvement.
They are actively working to increase corporate partnerships (like this meeting with the Seminole Tribe) as sponsors and as potential clients for leadership development training for Native Americans. AIBL has created a curriculum that will include a certificate upon completion. AIBL will provide the training for a fee.
The other benefit to corporate partnerships is to be able to increase internship/career opportunities for AIBL students. They already have strong working relationships with Nike, Synchrony Bank, Adobe and Chevron. Their 2023 list of mentor organizations is substantial.
Prairie thanked JSF for the years of support. Malcolm recalled our earliest meetings with AIBL in the early 2000s and the fledgling but promising organization it was. Prairie is proud of the way AIBL is helping give Native students hope, higher self-esteem, and a path to finding their dream jobs.
