THANK YOU
  Sarah Toole
Why did you choose to attend FSU?
I chose to attend FSU for two reasons. The primary reason is that it would keep me close to my grandparents. At the time I applied, I realized my grandma’s health was quickly declining. My second choice was the University of North Florida (UNF) in Jacksonville, FL, which would have relocated me too far from them. The second reason is that my grandparents have lived near Tallahassee since I was born. My mom and grandma were huge FSU football fans and I knew that attending FSU would make them so proud!
Here is a note of gratitude from your scholarship recipient:
My name is Sarah Toole and I just turned 21 in September! I live in Crawfordville, FL, with my grandpa and dog, Rosie (a 10-year-old black labrador mix). I want to thank the Johnson Scholarship Foundation for this generous award. This is above and beyond; caring this much about a student and their future is beautiful.
I am a senior at FSU and transferred from Tallahassee Community College (TCC) in the fall of 2022. Initially, I was a political science major, but now I have switched to a double major in Public Health and Environment & society. My minor is Crime Science Investigation (CSI) and I am also working on a certificate in Emergency Management and Homeland Security (EMHS). I hope to be an epidemiologist or emergency management professional. I did consider Meteorology as a major and career, but I am not blessed with enough math proficiency to handle the rigor of the classes. I am currently the president of the Transfer Student Union (TSU) at FSU and a mentor with Transfer Student Services (TSS).
Again, it means so much that donors like you are invested in our future. It really does take a village.
Yours, Sarah Toole
