I am excited to share a heartwarming glimpse into a recent Halloween celebration at FSDB. Our youngest students in the Early Learning Center enjoyed a magical day trick-or-treating through Moore Hall, where our wonderful staff welcomed them with treats and festive cheer. For our deaf and blind students, this was more than just costumes and candy—it was an opportunity to experience the joy and connection of a cherished tradition, fully embraced by our FSDB community.
We thought of you as soon as we captured these moments, knowing how much you enjoy seeing the impact of your support come to life. Here is a short video that beautifully captures their laughter and excitement: https://vimeo.com/fsdbk12/elc-halloween-walk-moore-hall-2024?share=copy
Thank you for being a part of these special experiences that mean so much to our students and for helping us create these lasting memories.
• UPS
Staff met with Scholarship America regarding the logistical details of the 2025 applications and will be signing the contract for the 2025/2026 academic year.
A letter has gone to UPS leadership inviting Florida employees to apply for scholarships for their children. This letter is expected to be posted in several locations for easy access for employees.
INDIGENOUS PEOPLES PROGRAMS
• Distributions as of November 18, 2024 - $ 1,377,853
• Dalhousie University
The grant has been finalized with Dalhousie University for the Engineering program. They are providing the documentation for their qualifying match to be processed for funding.
• Entrepreneurship Scholarship Annual meeting and Endowment Program Bi-Annual meeting
The reports from the two meetings in Scottsdale are attached.
• Martin Family Initiative
The grant has been finalized with MFI. They provided the documentation for their qualifying match and that funding has been made. Chloe requested that going forward, all grants be made at the beginning of the calendar year. She agreed to the first funding now to accommodate our Grant Distribution Plan. That shifts our 5-year projections slightly by showing no funding to MFI in 2025 (as they will count this one as their First Year) and the remaining two years to be funded in January 2026 and 2027.
