PROGRAM NOTES
CORE PROGRAMS
• Distributions as of August 16, 2024 - $ 1,365,000
• SUSF
The Board of Governors’ Office will be sending out the scholarship award amount to the 12 universities this month. Once we have those numbers, the JSF offers for matching grants for 2025/2026 scholarships will be prepared.
INDIGENOUS PEOPLES PROGRAMS
• Distributions as of August 16, 2024 - $ 700,000
• Entrepreneurship Scholarship Awards
Grant agreement letters have been executed with all 10 schools. The fall awards will be funded later this month.
• Site Visits - Canada
Bobby, Sherry and Lisa visited Dalhousie University and with people from The Martin Family Initiative. Both will be presenting applications at the September Grant Program Committee meeting. Those site visit reports will be included in the pre-meeting materials.
• Site Visits - Wisconsin
Bobby and Rick visited the College of Menominee Nation and Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe University. Those site visit reports will be included in the pre-meeting materials.
DISCRETIONARY PROGRAMS
• Distributions as of August 16, 2024 - $ 1,852,489
• Take Stock/Johnson Scholars Program
Both Lisa and Sharon participated in the annual student shopping event at Target. Generous donors provided $200 each to every student to purchase school supplies. Volunteers shopped with the students.
On August 30th, Sharon will be participating in the Career Readiness Conference for Program Coordinators, School District Administrators and Counselors, and others working in the Program. She will be sharing the history of the program and how it aligns with the Vision and Mission of JSF. (See flyer attached.)
• Mount Allison University
Marcie Meekins, Director of Development, sent a thank you letter as we conclude the Global Skills Opportunity grant. (See attached.)
• University of New Brunswick
Marcie Nixon, Associate Director of the Office of Development and Donor Relations, sent their report on the scholarships awarded to two deserving students. (See attached.)
