SUSF SPRING REPORT (8)
As noted above, prior Johnson Scholarship recipients may choose not to enroll for a semester for various reasons or may become ineligible for the scholarship. When this occurs, institutions are encouraged to disburse unused funds to eligible enrolled students in the subsequent semester. Institutions may also disburse unused funds during the summer semester. Florida International University, Florida State University, the University of Central Florida, and the University of West Florida had excess funds from the fall that they did not disburse during the spring 2023 term. The University of North Florida did not disburse all funds awarded during the spring 2023 term. These institutions may award funds to scholars for the summer 2023 term. If the institutions disburse awards during the summer 2023 term, a summer award verification report must be submitted to confirm the awarding of scholarly funds during the summer term. Any monies not awarded must be returned to the Board of Governors Foundation for future Johnson Scholarship use by June 15 each year.
Program Activity
The Johnson Scholarship Foundation hosts an annual meeting for the university coordinators. The event continues to provide university coordinators an opportunity to network, share best practices, and hear about the impact of the scholarships. The 2023 annual meeting will be held on June 2, 2023.
