LE CLOCHER
MONUMENTS SAINT-VEREDEM CHURCH Originally built in the Romanesque style, the Saint Véradème Church was later forti ed, forming a keep
with massive buttresses and ying buttresses supporting
a walkway with battlements and machicolations. Today, only a few vestiges of
the original forti cations remain. From 1842 to 1845,
a bay and six chapels were added to the church. Its bell tower, consisting of two superimposed levels, pierced with four elegant Romanesque openings, is now an elegant bell tower classi ed as a «Historic Monument». The facade, in good condition,
was restored in 1971. Inside, there are painted and gilded wooden statues from the 18th century, such as those of Saint Véradème, Saint Gens, and Saint Roch...
SAINT-GENS ORATORY
Located on the road to Eyragues, this beautiful
votive oratory dedicated to Saint-Gens consists of a low pedestal with a cornice and
an entablature supporting the niche. The roof is in the shape of a basket handle, a form not often found in the area due to its dif culty in construction, with decorative lateral volutes. Saint-Gens was honored in the region until the beginning of the century by a pilgrimage in May to invoke rain during periods of drought.
THE FOUNTAIN
Located on the town hall square, the fountain is of contemporary origin and is carved with pastoral and agricultural symbols.
THE CLOCHER MEDIA LIBRARY
Opened from 3:30 pm to 6 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturdays.
