YEAR-ROUND VISIBILITY
Foundation Grants
The College’s Foundation will continue its successful
Community Grant program in 2026 to fund special
projects that address challenges faced by allergists in
their day-to-day practice. The program is designed
to inspire creative, innovative approaches that have a
clinical application and the potential to improve the care
for allergy and asthma in every community, particularly
those that are faced with health disparities. We plan to
support five to eight projects with special consideration
for physician-member applicants in early stages of their
careers (in training or within 10 years of practice).
Grants will be awarded in the following two categories:
•
 Planning/exploratory grants (up to $10,000 for 12
months) – project ideas that have not been fully
explored and require some data gathering.
•
Implementation grants (up to $25,000 for 12-24
months) – projects that have gathered preliminary
data and completed initial planning to ensure
successful implementation.
$100,000 or co-sponsored at $50,000 each
CA2PER Grants
The Community and Academic Partnership in Education
and Research (CA²PER) program was launched in
2025 to encourage collaboration in clinical research.
Specifically, the program focuses on bringing together
academic and community allergists to conduct practice-
based translational research.
We will be awarding up to $100,000 in grant support
in 2026 for projects that address research questions
of relevance to clinical practice that are ultimately
important for improving allergy and immunology care.
This may include comparative efficacy studies of similar
therapies for specific clinical conditions designed to
generate preliminary data necessary to secure funding
for larger studies. Proposals for innovative studies that
have a “proof of concept” component will also be
considered/encouraged.
To be eligible for a CA²PER grant, applicants must:
1) demonstrate established community-academic
partnerships; 2) offer educational/mentoring
opportunities for clinical research data generation/
collection to community partners who have research
interest but limited expertise/experience; and 3) be
members in good standing. Grantees are expected to
generate publishable/presentable data with pragmatic
application, present their results at the College’s Annual
Meeting and submit a manuscript for publication in
Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
$100,000 or co-sponsored at $50,000 each
