Welcome to the Asia Speaks Forum - Japan Chapter.
The theme of “Urban Resilience” for the Japanese Chapter is most relevant in addressing the rapid challenges and changes faced by the world today, particularly in urban areas. The theme supports the
Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. I hope you find the ideas and experiences shared at today’s Forum inspiring and useful.
I would like to thank all parties involved in making this Forum a success, especially to the International Youth Centre Foundation, Malaysia and the Asian Youth Council for co-organising the Asia Speaks - Japan Chapter and to Kitakyushu University, Japan as the host. I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to the other youth NGOs and agencies which support this Forum, namely the Asian Youth Academy (AYA) and the Asian Youth Network as well as all participants who attend this Forum.
Finally, in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2020, I would like to invite all of you to visit our beautiful Malaysia which is diverse in culture, food, language, flora and fauna.
I sincerely hope that you will have a fruitful discussion.
