ABOVE: Betty and Rene Kimber pose with an F-type landaulette presumably with what would have been described as M.G. bodywork. In October 1924 The Morris Garages supplied an F-type for the pre-London run at Oxford’s New Theatre of ‘Six-Cylinder Love’ by William Anthony McGuire – ‘One of those rather naive things that occasionally slip through from the other side of the Atlantic,’ according to the somewhat acidic review that appeared in Punch magazine.
OPPOSITE: Three six-cylinder F-type Morris chassis were acquired by The Morris Garages in February 1924; the model suffered engine problems and it was abandoned after just 49 had been made. This example has Super Sports tourer coachwork. Rene Kimber is seated at the rear, furthest from the camera, with her sister Kathy, whose husband John Stevenson is in the front passenger seat.
