This project was one of the biggest disappointments
for Marcello Gandini as it did not see the light of

day. Given the association that he had had with
the other legend from the early Lamborghini years,
Giampaolo Dallara, it was natural to expect the ace
designer to design the car that would be bearing the
Dallara marque into the 21st century.
Lest we forget, may we suggest flipping back to pages
318-319 to remind the reader that the first car to bear
the Dallara name, the Icsunonove, was also a Marcello
Gandini design, which had been extrapolated from the
Fiat X1/9 sportster. It was indeed a racing machine,
albeit derived from a street legal car, but purpose-built
to compete in the World Sportscar Championship, in the
Group 5 (Silhouette) category, where it was successful.
The first proposal was for a rather blunt design without much consideration for airflow. MARCELLO GANDINI ARCHIVES
The second proposal evolved with more stress on airflow, especially along the flanks. MARCELLO GANDINI ARCHIVES
