On June 2, Ridolfi participated in the Coppa Consuma, finishing in seventh place in the GT 1300 class, the first four positions taken by the Abarth-Simca 1300, a new generation car that quickly outclassed the Giulietta. On June 30 at the Monza Gran Turismo Grand Prix, Ridolfi was third behind Guido Rava in an Abarth and Facetti in an Giulietta.
Ridolfi’s last race with the Giulietta was the Cesana-Sestriere on July 28, 1963. That summer he bought a new Abarth- Simca 1300 with which he raced for the rest of the season and the following year.
The outdated Giulietta was sold to the United States in 1964 through Gaston Andrey, an importer and gentleman driver of Swiss origin based in Boston, Massachusetts. His sticker, featuring the Swiss flag, is still on the car. The SZ was purchased by Armin B. A. Rhauda, a doctor from Philadelphia who had been born in Berlin in 1943 and had a passion for racing Alfa Romeos and tractors. Rhauda does not appear to have ever raced with the Giulietta, and this allowed it to be preserved in such exceptional condition. After Rhauda’s death in 2010, the Giulietta remained in storage on the family’s property for a few more years, before being purchased by Corrado Lopresto.
