the Corsa system applied patented Reflective Sound
Cancellation (RSC) technology that significantly reduced
back pressure. This minimized the drone noise heard in the
cabin, while producing a deep lope at idle and a crisp howl
at wide-open throttle
A Performance Shock Package (FG2). Further enhancing the

more hardcore ride and handling characteristics than the
factory (FE4) dampers. They were a variant of Nürburgring-
tested shocks that were deemed too stiff for American
roads and tuned for serious track use
Cross-Drilled Brake Rotors. Employing racing technology,
the rotors were cross-drilled and precision-machined within
strict tolerances. This application enabled quicker cooling,
minimized fade and increased overall braking performance
Forged Alloy Wheels (DN209). Specifically designed for
CTS-V, the highly polished, 7-split-spoke, open-faced design

overall performance, it was in the quality of materials and fit-n-
finish departments where it received some marginal grades. In
its defense however, many journalists cited the cost difference
between the CTS-V1 and its segment competition, ranging from
a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands less. As for noise,

a slight advantage.
For the 2,509 honorable enthusiasts who were lured away from
the long-established Euro-machines, the 2004 CTS-V represented
a raw, refreshing and purely American interpretation of a high-
performance luxury sedan. From its initial iteration, it was clear
that the CTS-V was modeled after its German rivals, but it was also
quite clear that it was the first of a new breed all its own.
2005
VELOCITY // ThE V1 CTS-V, XLR-V aND STS-V (2004-2009) CADILLAC’S V-SERIES After gaining a vital foothold in the 2004 model year, the CTS-V1
further entrenched itself within the ranks of the world’s best high-
performance sedans. For 2005 it was largely unchanged, but

its already impressive laurels. So, new colors and choice dealer-
installed performance options came online.
Technically available in late 2004, Redline (29U) and Stealth Gray
(46U) joined Black Raven and Light Platinum on the exterior color
palate and inside Light Gray (133) was added.
