In 1951, Enzo Ferrari and Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina met in Tortona, located equidistant from their respective works in Modena and Turin, for a discussion that eventually led to Pinin Farina assuming the lion’s share of design and fabrication work over the ensuing years for Ferrari’s road and race cars. The important agreement helped to cement Farina’s reputation as the world’s preeminent automotive designer, something that Nash’s advertisements had proclaimed for some time. (Pininfarina SpA)
