PININFARINA DINO BERLINETTA COMPETIZIONE (1967)
Another beautiful Pininfarina Ferrari concept car, the Dino Berlinetta Competizione, made its appearance at the 1967 Frankfurt Motor Show. So fascinated was José Rosinki of the French magazine L’Auto-Journal that he called it “one of the most beautiful objects created by mankind.”
Theyoungmanthatdrewthissculpturewasactually me. Let me explain this extraordinary experience in greater detail.
Between 1966 and 1967, as mentioned above, I worked in secret, for contractual reasons, at Pininfarina, and the first model that I created was a sports berlinetta on the Dino platform, more compact and lighter than the “big” Ferraris. Starting from sketches of the side view, and then the front and rear perspective, very elegant color illustrations were created, and subsequently I made drawings with sections on a 1:10 scale.
