                car at the Road America Can-Am, but eventually left the series to go work on two Mike Hall cars: a 2-liter Lola for SCCA races and a Brabham BT35 in the pre-cursor to the Formula Atlantic.
Can-Am was changing. By 1972, there was a lot more corporate involvement,

and the Porsche 917/30 ended the
competitive nature of the racing.
In 1973, Ike and Chuck Parsons tried for a run at the national F-5000 series. They obtained a Lola T330 from Carl Haas, but a pitch for sponsorship to Budweiser fell through and the F-5000
effort was abandoned. But Ike was not totally done yet.
Billy Scyphers, a talented young driver who lived near Ike, had won the NASCAR state championship when he was just 18 in 1973. Ike supported Scyphers for a few years as he raced a
