CQE - THE SYSTEM
Leaders in care homes are responsible for creating a “Safe and Caring” culture. None of the systems or processes CQC currently ‘inspects into’ UK care homes provide the systems needed to accomplish this.
Hitherto, the metrics needed to deliver and maintain optimal care home cultures haven’t been available.
Using the CQE system, any competent care leader can now build and maintain a great care home culture.
When a care home adopts the CQE system, it will immediately build safer shifts - typically, 20% safer from day one. This is because, as leaders build their shifts they receive constant visual feedback on how the choices they are making impact that shift’s safety.
- And safer shifts aren’t just better for residents ... they’re better for carers too ... As shifts become safer, carers can start to feel real pride - they no longer have to swallow it when they see colleagues doing things they know they shouldn’t.
- And as the pride grows, so does team spirit.
- Experience shows that when the CQE safety rating for a care home exceeds 70%, people can’t help noticing that their culture has changed for the better. Moreover, as long as the CQE system remains in place, there is no danger of it dropping below that 70% level ever again.
Every month CQE produces a report which contains the feedback and evidence care leaders need to be confident about the safety of their home and the quality of their leadership.
The document on the right shows how the reports generated by the CQE system build into the evidence required for CQC inspections.
