A three-story brick building erected before 1817
Here, President James Monroe was honored at a public dinner on June 2, 1819, while on a three-day visit to the Alabama Territory. Here, also, the First Alabama LegisĀ lature convened on October 25, 1819, while Huntsville was the first Capital.

Huntsville Inn Historical Marker
This Alabama Historical Association marker was sponsored by the Madison County Commission and erected in 1969. The marker is located at the site of the Huntsville Inn (223 East Side Square), Huntsville, Alabama. Information pertaining to the Huntsville Inn can be found in References 10, 26, and 27.
