To those who will come after me...
Samantha Phipps – I’ll never forget Spring 2017 when you came to tour my dorm on a Decision Day. You noticed the music notes hanging on my wall and asked if I was in the marching band. I was so excited to meet a prospective student who was an honors marketing major interested in marching band – especially one from across the country! I’m so glad you decided to come to UD and that you decided to be my friend once you got here. You are such a strong, determined, and creative woman, and I know you will continue to do great things.
Jenny Armistead – When I found out you were going to be my Little, I was so excited to have a Little who was so multi-talented! You were one of the first people I really got to know from the color guard, and I am forever grateful. Thank you for being such a friendly face in rehearsal and for helping me connect with that whole other facet of the UDMB. Love you!
Racquel Hackman – Remember when you almost didn’t join Ad Staff? I do – but I’m so glad you decided to work as part of the meals team this year. Through Ad Staff and SAI, I have gotten to know you so much better this year. You bring out my silly side and I love that. Thank you for all the laughs – please keep in touch when I graduate!
Quinn Marks – Thank you for serving as a resource whenever I had questions about how to make all UDMB members feel welcome. Thank you for answering my questions honestly and challenging me to think from different points of view. Thanks to your input and patience, I know the band is making strides to be as inclusive on paper as we are in person. #ShareTheLove
Jacky Matics – When the going gets tough, you got tougher! Thank you for always lending a hand even when things were crazy in your world. I appreciate your contributions to the meals team and have enjoyed getting to know you more this year.
Katrina Staib – Thank you for always volunteering every time I needed administrative help. Big tasks seem small when you have great helpers. Also, thank you for always hitting your dot in the block in Lost in Space so that I could fall in perfectly behind you. Keep getting involved. Keep volunteering. You will do great things, I’m sure of it.
Oscar Marino – I don’t even remember meeting you for the first time, I just remember texting you because you were going to late to band camp because of drum corps and I wanted to tell you I had your meal card. Since then, we somehow became friends and for that I am thankful. Thanks for reminding me how exciting it is to be a freshman – and for giving me a glimpse into that experience again. I’m so glad we both got the opportunity to march Jersey Surf, even though it wasn’t at the same time. I hope some day we will get the opportunity to march together again. Please keep in touch!
To some of my fellow Seniors...
Brendan Laux – Thank you for helping to write the senior show and for helping to bring Jeffry into this world. You do a wonderful job of flipping the switch between silly and serious – I admire you a lot for that. Thanks for a fun four years #IStandWithJeffry
