Luke: I was so excited when I heard you were coming to help with outdoor. Seeing you come on the field in 40 degree weather while sipping an iced coffee = ICONIC. Thank you for always listening to me and believing in me. Thank you for your constant check ins to make sure I’m feeling okay. Thank you for that silk work last year. And now, INDOOR YAY
Guard: Take a minute and close your eyes. Think back to band camp. Remember where you started at. And now think of where you are now. You all grew so much as spinners and people and that was truly my favorite part of guard this year, seeing you all improve and grow. Thank you for letting me be a part of that. I hope you all enjoyed this season. I hope you had a good time and come back next year to keep the program going even after I’m gone. If you ever need anything at all, advice or biology help or just someone to talk to, never be afraid to text me or call me, I’m always available.
Rookies: You were amazing. Seriously. I haven’t met a better rookie group than you all. You’re kind, supportive, and SO DEDICATED, and I am so proud of every single one of you. You’re gonna do amazing things. Thank you for the honor of being your captain.
Sophomores: You guys grew so much in the past 2 years and I had the privilege of being your captain for both those years and WOW you all have so much energy and such passion it puts a smile on my face every time I watch you spin. Never lose that.
Juniors: Hey guess what? After this, you’re the seniors now. How crazy is that? You’re coming up on your last year and let me tell you, everyone always says “it goes fast.” ITS FUCKING TRUE. So take the time to appreciate the moments that will come. It’s your program now.
Seniors (guard and band): What a ride. Thank you for an amazing 4 years together. Being part of this band was amazing and being able to meet and get to know you all has been amazing. You all are going to go on and do amazing things and I cannot wait to see you all again at homecoming ;)
Jeremy: Baby boy. You’ve gotten SO MUCH better at flag in the past 2 years it’s been great to see. I’m glad you aren’t scared of me anymore cause now I get to hear you sass me constantly. I hereby will you my apartment next year. You’re welcome.
Alice: Oh babe. I thought you hated me last year cause you seemed so terrified of me. I’m so glad I got to know you more in Delazure because you are a fucking ray of sunshine and you make everything better. I’m so glad you came back to march this year cause I got a whole other season with you and it has been amazing seeing you shine and go from the quiet little freshman girl who never stops spinning to the hysterical sophomore WOMAN who also never stops spinning.
Natasha: WHAT A WOMAN. You’ve got it all my dude. I have always been in awe of you. The hair, the bod, the brain, the skills, the fashion, the smile, the eyes, just EVERYTHING about you is amazing and I am going to miss spinning with you. I cannot wait to see what you do next year. Don’t be afraid to text me if you need anything ;)
Rachel: Hey roomie/best friend/co-captain. You’re sitting right next to me right now as I write this. Thanks for helping me stay sane this season and being my rock for everything. It’s been an interesting 4 seasons together and I cannot wait to see what the future brings for us both. LOVE YOU BBY. And don’t forget to take out the trash tomorrow ;)
To the band: Thank you for a great season. I can’t wait to see what you all do next year. While this will always be my band even after I graduate, my time in this program has come and gone and it’s
