P. 99
To Luke: Thanks for driving me to the dentist that one time, that shit was wild. Love you, but let’s never do that again. But for real, thanks for the kickass work, the jokes, the memories, the post- practice chats that inevitably go on way too long (hello frostbite)... thanks for it all.
To Jackie: Remember bringing our flag bags into MATH241 three times a week? Thanks for making me not have to do that alone. You have been my rock, my constant throughout these four years. From the kitchen in M5 to the couch in C2, thanks for being the best person to talk shit with. Just say the word and I’ll lay on the floor to open a wine bottle for you (and I’ll even let you throw grapes in my glass). You are the best co-captain, roommate, and best friend in the world and I wouldn’t trade these last four years for anything. Love ya babe <3
To Natasha: Oh Natasha, what a woman. You are sunshine and gracefulness personified, and I can never thank you enough for stepping up and helping whenever you could. You will always be the Anastasia to my Grandma.
To Jeremy: FEET. You more than anyone know how bad I am with words, why can’t you just write this for me? Aha ha, just kidding.. unless..? You are my son and I love you, thanks for getting me through the rough days and not letting me quit, even though I said I would every day. Enjoy C2 :^) Safelight rePAIR!
To Alice: It’s a wonderful day to be alive! Your endless positivity will always raise me up, and your endless pessimism will always crack me up. I was going to say “I know you’re going to do great things”, but then I realized you’re already there, kicking ass and breaking boundaries. Keep doing you bby <3
To Scott Benton, Ryan Cruz, and Josh Pompeo: Y’all are the best opening dot buddies ever. Thanks for always cheering me on for those first 20 counts in Mars, I needed it "#$%
To Jack Malone: How did we not meet each other until last year? To be perfectly honest, I can’t even remember how we met, but I’m so glad we did. I will forever cherish our late night chats, our movie nights, our cross-campus walks, and of course our dinners at 5-star CR. Never doubt your worth in this world and embrace who you are, eyes with pride.
To the CoolPpl: Man, could we have thought of a better name for that group chat? You all were my first real friends here at Delaware, and our little group got me through my freshman year - and that is no exaggeration. 5 days into our first band camp, I was exhausted, scared, and most of all lonely. On that first Wednesday, I moved into an empty room in Redding, worried about how I would navigate to practice the next morning from the complete opposite side of campus. Thank god we all met each other, I would’ve spent the whole night alone in my room. I remember taking over whole tables in CR and Russell (RIP old Russell) with our equipment and instruments post-band practice. I remember family dinners and trying to open a can of spaghetti sauce with everything but a can opener because none of us had one. I remember late nights in the LL pretending we were studying, but actually playing The Floor is Lava Tag (how were there no broken bones that night?) I could fill an entire page full of remember when’s, but I’ll leave with this: I will be forever grateful for connecting with you all so early on, and I will forever cherish those remember when’s.
To those not mentioned personally: Thank you. I may not have found the right words while writing this will, but truly, thank you.
