CONSTRUCTION
TECHNOLOGY
At Fort Hays Tech | Northwest you will have
the necessary job skills and related technical
information required in the construction
and cabinet-making trades. You will build
an entire house with your own two hands,
becoming familiar with all phases of residential
construction from the foundation to the roof.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Upon completion of the program, you will
enter the trade with a thorough and versatile
understanding of the profession, as well as the
opportunity to obtain a contractor’s license
and/ or advance to the level of master or
journeyman tradesman.
The Fort Hays Tech | Northwest Construction Technology program is in alignment with the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) CIP code 46.0201: Carpentry/
Carpenter. A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to lay out, cut, fabricate, erect, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures,
using hand and power tools. Includes instruction in technical mathematics, framing, construction materials and selection, job estimating, blueprint reading, foundations
and roughing-in, finish carpentry techniques, and applicable codes and standards.
