We need to discern dhamma practice: We practice dhamma—not in order for others to appreciate us.
We practice dhamma—in order
to refine ourselves. But, we need
to practice dhamma until we can appreciate ourselves. Whenever we think (about our dhamma practice),
our mind is resplendent, our mind is serene. Whenever we experience
(our state of mind), we feel happy. This, indeed, is what we should appreciate in ourselves. If others do not, then let them be. When our mind is happy; when our mind is resplendent,
full of loving-kindness—then,
our outward actions, our words
will naturally follow. This is what
we must prove now, let us prove.
