lives. Mental Illness is something that people can be frightened to talk about, but it’s common. The most important thing to know about mental illness is that it is not your fault. People, when diagnosed with a mental illness, frequently think that they have done something wrong, or that they are somehow responsible. The hard truth is that mental illness happens to everyone, regardless of the good (or bad) things they have done in their life, the lifestyles they have, the people they surround themselves with, how much money they have, or how smart or educated they are.
Questions: When did you first hear the term Mental Illness? What was your response when you found out you might have a mental illness? What is your reaction to knowing that many, many people struggle with mental illness?
