(e.g., substance use, self-injury, gambling, etc.)
 Both sets of behaviors can appear to be effective in the short-term
Consequences of Ineffective Behaviors
(Includes long-term intensification of emotions along with secondary emotional effects) These Consequences Morph into the Next Set of Vulnerabilities
