All of a sudden, Jewel heard some noises down the stairwell from Ms. Desaulniers’ office. Voices were talking and it sounded cheery and interesting. Jewel bounded down the steps and promenaded into the large Dining Room. Children were sitting down at their tables eating their food with grownups. “This is odd!” Jewel wondered why there were so many people eating in one place.
