Beijing Wuzi University Visit to CILT HQ
CILT were delighted to host a Senior Delegation from Beijing Wuzi University on Friday 7th July at HQ. This was Beijing Wuzi University’s second visit to CILT in recent years.
The Chinese delegation was led by Dr Li Shizhu, Chairman of University Council, along with Mr Han Xing, Executive Dean, International School, Professor Ke Shang, Dean of the School of Law, Mr Luo Xindong, Dean of School of Continuing Education and Dr Fu Li, Vice Director, Presidents Office.
The purpose of the meeting was to further develop links between CILT and the University, to discuss an international certificate in logistics course; and build academic cooperation. The University is particularly interested in CILT’s legislative compliance programmes, lifelong learning and supply chain courses. Joint research and knowledge sharing initiatives were explored between both institutions.
The delegation met with Finbarr Clearly, International Vice President; Tim Daly, Chairman, Education Committee; Dr Eoin Plant Chairman Policy Committee; Gerard Deegan, Chairman, Business Development Committee and Tim Hayes, Development Manager, CILT.
Tim Hayes gave a detailed presentation to the room about CILT, with reference to the education and training programmes of the Institute. Dr Plant briefed them on the work of NILT.
The Institute welcomes the continued development of links with Beijing Wuzi University.
Delos Santos Work Recognised by Southern Section
Membership of CILT Southern Section was presented to Attorney Delos Santos by Gerard Deegan FCILT as a mark of her contribution to the education and training development programme being undertaken by PPA, supported by Port of Cork Company, Irish Aid and UN Conference on Training and Development.
In the absence of a national division of CILT in the Philippines the Southern Section have as an overseas development objective to establish a sub section in the Philippines and promote the setting up of a national body there.
