   ELA is a federation of more than 30 National Logistics Associations covering most of Western, central European and beyond. The members of these National Logistics Associations are professionals working in a logistics function, mainly in the industry but also in different service sectors. As The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport are members of the European Logistics Association and as their representative in Ireland, we are proud to announce the winners of the ELA Awards 2016.
The ELA Awards Winners
Between the  nalists of national award winning pro- jects, the European Logistics Association celebrates the best Logistics project of the year as well as the best Logistics professional of the year.
Project of the year 2016 – BLG and Engelbert Strauss
• The winner for Project of the year is BLG Logis- tics and Engelbert Strauss
This project saw the implementation of a mobile, scal- able and ef cient warehousing and order picking solu- tion in a landmarked building within a short time.
• The winner of Professional of the year is Michalis Ziglis from Greece
This warehouse logistics project is a very interesting and innovative solution, providing an exciting example of how technical and intelligent background can sup- port and help human resources to work more ef ciently and competitively.

 About the European Logistics Association
ELA is a federation of more than 30 National Logistics Associations covering most of Western, central European and beyond. The members of these National Logistics Associations are professionals working in a logistics function, mainly in the industry but also in different service sectors.
Throughout this network ELA reaches 55.000 logistics professionals. Since we promote a profession and not a sector we are a neutral body.
The aim of the European Logistics Association is to provide a network platform for logistics profession- als and to promote logistics and supply chain profession. The as well as the ELA Awards, the main focal points to achieve this are:

ELA offers a certi cation program based on the ELAQF Quali cation Standards aiming for a harmonised level of quali cation in logistics.

World wide the logistics and supply chain professions are promoted to the general public on one and the same day.

Interaction with the European Parliament and the different Directorate Generals in the European Commission.
