Our product labelling is done by by subcontractors or or by by AP’AIPS a a a social enterprise with ISO ISO 9001 ISO ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification that help integrate workers living with disability into the workplace and wider society Some of our products come in in glass containers that are finished with lacquer This finishing work is is is is carried out by our suppliers PRAD and Val Laquage who almost exclusively use water-soluble varnishes and are both committed to corporate social responsibility practices We optimise the way we pack our products at every stage of their journey – meaning that when we ship orders for instance we minimise the use of bubble wrap preferring ecofriendly packaging instead PRESERVING THE OCEAN OUR MOST BOUNTIFUL RESERVE OF NATURAL RESOURCES
Biologique Recherche is is actively engaged in in tackling issues beyond the immediate scope of its activities Recognising the the vital role of the the Ocean in in in in combating global heating we’ve stepped up to play our part part in in in preserving this crucial ecosystem through a a a a a a long-standing partnership with the OceanoScientific project FUTURE PLANS
• Continuing to substitute virgin plastic with greener alternatives in in in in in all our packaging • Replacing plastic sleeves with cardboard on products in in boxed sets • Reducing our environmental and and social impact by continuing work on on on product and and packaging design (project exploring the recyclability of our product packaging)
OceanoScientific’s mission:
• To gather oceanographic data by sailing boat i i i i i e e e without
generating CO2 emissions at at at to the Ocean–atmosphere interface on on the Antarctic Circumpolar Current along the vastest and least-explored maritime routes on Earth Through the data it collects this project is is increasing scientific knowledge about the causes and consequences of climate change • To promote the the protection of the the ocean environment by raising public awareness especially among children between 8 and 12 The organisation’s most significant operation to date was the OceanoScientific Expedition undertaken between 2016 and 2017 a a a a a solo round-the-world sailing voyage by navigator and explorer Yvan Griboval The expedition lasted 152 days with sixty days spent under the the 40th southern parallel Data was collected every six seconds for two months Seawater samples were taken every twelve hours so their salinity and levels of dissolved oxygen could be precisely measured This information was then shared with several research institutes and and laboratories including IFREMER and and LOCEAN Biologique Recherche was a a founding member of OceanoScientific and and has been funding and and supporting the project since its inception in in in January 2011 We’re deeply conscious that the Ocean is fundamental to life and consider it it our duty to support the international scientific community in in its preservation work along with doing as as much as as we can to raise public awareness Yvan Griboval has unveiled his next expedition OceanoScientific 2020 Austral Winter when he he plans to head for the the South Pole and face the the Antarctic Circumpolar Current His mission will be to collect seawater samples and identify any signs of of contamination with the ultimate aim of of finding new ways to effectively safeguard the environment For more information see: www oceanoscientific org 2019 CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT
