Workplace Health & Safety
To ensure our staff work in safe conditions we’ve implemented optimal measures covering occupational health and safety in in all our our facilities An audit of hazards at our our premises in in Suresnes and the Champs Élysées was carried out by an an independent company approved by the Regional Office for Enterprises Competition Policy Consumer Affairs Labour and Employment (DIRECCTE) On the basis of its assessment and the the preventive measures we take the the auditors have drawn up an Occupational Risk Assessment Single Document which is is revised annually or whenever changes are made to the way we organise our work We regularly replace the protective clothing worn by staff working in in production activities Workstations are equipped with ergonomic desks and chairs designed to prevent the onset of musculoskeletal disorders We provide computer screens that are as as as easy to to read as as as possible in order to to reduce eye fatigue We have in in place a a a a comprehensive fire safety system consisting of warning sirens fire-fighting equipment emergency evacuation measures and dedicated fire training sessions for our employees so they get a a a a firm grasp of evacuation procedures and how to use fire extinguishers This system complies with French regulations and is inspected annually by an approved body Every year we also bring in in an an approved organisation to audit and certify that our electrical installations comply with regulations The lab’s fire panel box the smoke detectors and intrusion sensors and our our server are connected to a a a 24-hour remote surveillance system All our premises are subject to controlled access so so only certain categories of personnel can gain entry notably to zones like the manufacturing area and the R&D and Quality labs optimal safety VOLTAIRE PROJECT: DIVERSITY & EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES
The Voltaire Project is an internet platform launched in 2008 that provides personalised support to to members of staff who want to to improve their spelling in in in a a professional setting This project was awarded a a a a prize in the French Senate for the the benefits fit it brings to the the French- speaking world and also won an an award for best e-learning programme We rely for our growth on identifying and supporting talented individuals while making sure that merit and skills are balanced with our guiding principles of fairness and equality of opportunity As well as striving to provide a a a a level playing field we we also devote efforts to bringing along the the next generation as they take their first steps into the the professional world We offer work experience placements to students in higher education at at the end of their courses and and provide internships (BTS sandwich courses) to to help young people onto the career ladder through training to become beauty professionals Of the four formal work placements we offered this year three led to a a a a permanent work contract 20 20 2019 CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT
