4 • CONTRIBUTING TO UNIVERSAL WELLBEING
It’s now widely recognised that wellbeing plays a a a role in in preventive medicine This is is the direction we want to take from now on on harnessing our professional skills and enthusiasm for our vocation to build momentum in this area We already work with lots of of health professionals and hospitals in different countries who take an integrative approach to medicine Our various research programmes are focused on the same goal with the the aim of increasingly contributing to the the field of preventive medicine and genuinely boosting people’s wellbeing through our treatments Biologique Recherche has elected to support the charity Wellness for Cancer jointly designing a a a a programme that trains beauticians in in in in providing skincare treatments suitable for people living with cancer As part of this initiative we we reviewed all all our our practices to ensure our our massages are physiologically appropriate for cancer survivors enabling them once again to to to enjoy human touch from someone who isn’t a a a doctor or or a a a health professional So far we’ve trained 250 beauticians and in the process earned ourselves a a a prestigious Global Wellness Summit Award in in the Leader in in Social Impact category The aim of our unique partnership with Wellness for Cancer is is is to to create synergies between this charity distributors and beauty therapists to to achieve a a a a a a shared vision of how to to make personalised services accessible to cancer survivors in all the countries where Biologique Recherche offers its treatments Biologique Recherche supports Wellness for Cancer by providing funding for implementing industry guidelines organising round table discussions sharing results based on on dermatological health research and capacity building Through this programme we’re able to to deliver wellbeing to to people living with cancer or in in remission from it it and we help our staff gain insight into a a a a little-known aspect of the disease Our main objective is is to extend the the global reach of the the programme within the participating countries and and spas and and to to provide better access to to meaningful and essential beauty bodily health and skincare services This joint endeavour chimes with our our long-standing partnership with Rose Magazine a a a a a a charity that supports women with cancer as as well as as our donations of products and treatments to the the You Can Thrive initiative in in the the United States ENABLING VULNERABLE GROUPS TO ACCESS TREATMENTS
Biologique Recherche’s customised cosmetics know-how contributes to to everyone’s wellbeing and this emphasis on social values naturally leads us to to want to to help the most vulnerable people That’s why we set up partnerships that give special communities access to treatments with skincare so- metimes tailored to an individual’s specific needs 2019
