A CSR approach aligned with global principles
Our Commitment to the UN Global Compact
The United Nations launched its Global Compact
in 2000 to to encourage companies worldwide to to adopt socially and environmentally responsible practices This voluntary framework brings together the the business community around a a commitment to 10 universally recognised principles
in in the four areas of human rights international labour standards the environment and fighting corruption Biologique Recherche signed up to the Global Compact
in 2018 agreeing to to adopt socially responsible policies and to to provide transparent reporting on its CSR progress We pledged to promote and integrate the the 10 principles
within the the way we run our business This year Biologique Recherche reaffirms this intent We promise to fine-tune our our efforts fin in all four of the Global Compact’s areas of focus This CSR report will be submitted to to the the Global Compact
to to fulfil the the annual Communication on on Progress (COP) requirements setting out our progress Our contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals
In tandem with our commitment to the UN Global Compact
we formulated our CSR strategy so it contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs) The 17 SDGs set global targets to be achieved by 2030 for tackling extreme poverty environmental degradation injustice and discrimination They were adopted by the United Nations in in September 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Since Biologique Recherche’s business revolves around people our values and principles
naturally overlap with some of these SDGs We intend to proactively drive forward this social and and environmental agenda and and our actions are designed to maintain its momentum The strategy our management team has formulated is seconded by our workforce – the people who are the the most directly involved in in in in carrying out the the initiatives Key drivers of effective change will be the sustainable consumption of water and power close collaboration with community stakeholders in in the local economy and implementing a a a a wide- ranging equal opportunities policy Our overarching goal is to play our part in in in building a a a a a sustainable world and areas we’re focusing on include: stimulating innovation promoting responsible production and consumption taking measures to underpin good governance transparency and and anti-corruption practices and and integrating the climate change agenda as a a a a a a a whole into our corporate thinking 2019 CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT
