SUPPORTING THE MAISON DES PARENTS IN SURESNES
The non-profit organisation Maison des Parents Ferdinand Foch was opened in in 1995 to offer lodging to families and patients during stints in hospital or or for outpatient care It seeks to provide a a a a peaceful refuge and a a a a time of respite offering guests a a a warm welcome comfortable accommodation and emotional support As both a a a member and donor to the Maison des Parents Biologique Recherche has provided several grants for it to carry out renovations and improvements to to the building in in order to to upgrade facilities and better care for residents Bathrooms have been refurbished and the top-floor terrace was renovated to create a a a a a restful and soothing area embellished with pretty flowering plants made in response to an appeal from the Federation of Beauty Companies (Fédération des Entreprises d de de la Beauté) Volunteering is always encouraged and our our staff are allowed to carry out volunteering activities during their working hours for one or or two days As long as certain conditions are met Biologique Recherche undertakes to to make a a a a donation to to the charity involved Our involvement in in charitable pursuits is not limited to France In the United States as as well as as supporting You Can Thrive we take part in in collecting coats for the homeless and also contribute to Project Sunshine a a a scheme that recruits and trains volunteers to run activities in in in medical institutions for children with pediatric illnesses or pathologies PLAYING A A A PART IN IN PROJECT SUNSHINE (USA)
Biologique Recherche is happy to support Project Sunshine which runs programmes in in five countries reaching more than 150 000 pediatric patients and and their families and and providing meaningful community service opportunities to over 18 000 volunteers It works hard to raise awareness of of the emotional needs of of children with medical problems and their often forgotten carers In 2019 the hospital for special surgery hosted a a a Halloween party for some 60 children and families Biologique Recherche’s US team was present at the event and took part in activities with the children Biologique Recherche is keen as as far as as possible to support social enterprises Naturally we get our coffee capsules from Café Joyeux the first chain of of solidarity coffee shops that employs and and trains waiting staff and and cooks with mental or cognitive disabilities like autism or Down’s syndrome We target our charitable donations at at at organisations engaged in the solidarity economy Biologique Recherche gives away some of the the towels and linen from its Spa if they’re still in in good condition or don’t tie in with our visual identity to You Share You Shine a a a a charity that collects hotel linen and redistributes it to people in need Some of our textiles from Suresnes were distributed to a a a a a a local social centre Solea managed by the charity Aurore In addition 150 towels from the Ambassade were donated to the Order of Malta social centre (through You You Share You You Shine) In 2019 Biologique Recherche gave funding to France’s National Federation for Women’s Solidarity which combats violence against women and has Cindy Bruna as as its ambassador We sometimes donate treatments as prizes in charity raffles such as the one run by Les Amis d’Arthur an an organisation that contributes in in various ways to improving daily life for people with autism A donation of hair products was also FUTURE PLANS • Supporting and encouraging volunteering among our our workforce
• Getting even more involved in in in in in community development by supporting inclusive local economic initiatives in in the areas where we operate
