This exhibition is made possible with the generous support of the Walter Feldman Fellowship, juried by Liz Munsell, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and awarded by the Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston.
I would like to thank the following people for their insight, input, and support: Liz Munsell, for a wonderful conversation and for believing in my vision. Lisa Crossman, for her continued support and friendship, keen artistic sensibility, and her superb editing skills. Almitra Stanley, for being a great listener, understanding my vision, and her invaluable professional coaching. Joseph D. Ketner II, for believing in my work and giving me the opportunity to ll not one, but two walls, at Emerson College with my murals. More speci cally, I would like to thank Mr. Ketner for writing a beautiful essay about this exhibition. Mr. Ketner is an avid supporter of emerging artists in Boston, and I would like to express my gratitude to him for treating this body of work with great respect and enthusiasm.
Patrick Farley, for being a wonderful partner, mastering the art of taking my mind o of work, always planning a delicious vegetarian meal, and his unfaltering friendship and companionship when I am at the brink. Pares Mallis and the Piano Craft Gallery board members, for hosting this exhibition, as well as being so accommodating and supportive. Walter Feldman, for his generosity. Jim Grace and the Arts & Business Council sta , for making all of this possible and for supporting
emerging artists in Boston. D’Lynne Plummer, for working within a tight deadline to design this catalog. Alex Barstow, for documenting my work for this catalog. Tufts University and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, where as a graduate student, I found the momentum to further develop my professional practice as a visual artist. The sum of those experiences still echo within my production. In these two institutions, I encountered a community of incredibly accomplished and nurturing individuals, who have remained a strong presence, multiplying and becoming increasingly diversi ed since my graduation. More speci cally, I would like to thank my professor and mentor Magda Campos Pons and my advisor Mark Cooper, for encouraging me to write my own text for my paintings. It was about time!
I’d like to express my gratitude to all the collectors who have acquired, commissioned, and supported my work throughout the years in North America and abroad, in particular, Chris Bratton, President of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, for being so supportive. Furthermore, my gratitude to my family, Yara M. Traub Csekö, L.C. Csekö, Gisela Castro, Peter Mason and Joana Traub Csekö. You guys are my rock. Thank you Zoe and Frank, the sweetest mutts who always make me smile, no matter what. Above all, my gratitude to the muses and their mysterious ways! May they always be around to encourage me, keep me company, and inspire me with their charm and grace. Thank you all! It wouldn’t be possible—or worth it—to keep making art without you! With much love.
