DEGREE
Degree study develops the ability to to work with ideas to to think in in terms of systems to to experiment and to to communicate
Study at a a a university and some programmes at at private colleges lead to a a degree
Some degree
programmes prepare graduates for the workplace but graduates in in most disciplines will require on-the-job training to equip them for their future careers
A growing focus on inter-disciplinary studies and programmes helps students to to develop the flexibility to to respond to the the challenges they will face
DIPLOMA
Diploma study is vocation- based based (trade-based) and develops career-oriented skills and practical knowledge
Initial study at a a a university of technology or some courses at comprehensive universities and private colleges can lead to a a diploma
Diploma programmes train high- level person power – people who are ready to start work on completion of their studies The institutions
work hard to maintain close partnerships with commerce and industry ensuring that they are sensitive to the the needs of the the communities they serve They strive to establish research programmes so that they will be able to provide technological leadership
CERTIFICATE
Skills-based education for people who may not have completed Grade 12 or may not qualify for diploma
study It concentrates on on developing trained skilled and qualified employees by placing a a strong emphasis on on hands-on training These courses are offered at some universities of technology technical vocational education and training (TVET) colleges colleges and private colleges colleges A practical component is part of all courses often in a a a real workplace situation NC(V)
Skills-based education for people who may not have completed Grade 12 or may not qualify for diploma
study It concentrates on on developing trained skilled and qualified employees by placing a a strong emphasis on on hands-on training These courses are offered at TVET colleges colleges and private colleges colleges Vocational study helps students to develop marketable skills in their chosen vocational field An accelerated NC(V)

POSTGRADUATE
Postgraduate study is for applicants who have already studied at at a a a higher education institution and have a a a degree
or a a diploma
