4. MIMI Results for the Central Karoo District Municipality
4.1 Construct A: Enablers of innovation
This section presents results for Construct A of MIMI: Municipal Enablers for Innovation. Table 2 displays the scores for Construct A for the Central Karoo District Municipality in comparison to the national average. As indicated, the average score for the Central Karoo District Municipality Construct A was 2, while the national average was 2. The municipality demonstrated a score of 2 in many areas. Additionally, the City of Tshwane scored 1 in areas like inclusive decision making for innovation and political support for innovation. These suggest the municipality shows some enabling conditions for fostering innovation, but there is little evidence of innovation being applied or ongoing.

4.2 Construct b: Management support for innovation
This section presents results for Construct B of MIMI: Management Support for Innovation. Table 3 displays the scores for the Central Karoo District Municipality in comparison to the national average. The average score for Central Karoo was 2, while the national average score was also 2. The municipality scored 2 in openness to new ideas, understanding of innovation processes, support for testing innovations, and 2 for communication by management for innovation. A score of 2 was recorded for encouragement of learning.
