Prof Prof Twala is a a a a a a a Professor in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science with the the Department of Electrical and Mining Engineering at the the University of of South Africa Before then he he he he was the the the Director of of the the the Institute for Intelligent Systems at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) and and was also Head of the Electrical and and Electronic Engineering Science Department at UJ Before then Prof Twala was a a a a a a a Principal Research Research Scientist at the Council for Science and Industrial Research Research (CSIR) within the Modelling and Digital Science Unit (where he he he is currently an an Advisor) His research work at the CSIR involved and expanded swath of data analytics and and optimisation approaches that bring a a a complete understanding of digital customer experiences Prof Twala was also a a a a a a a a post-doctoral researcher at Brunel University in in in in in the UK mainly focusing on empirical software engineering research and looking at at data quality issues in in in in software engineering His broad research interests include image in in in in signal processing multivariate statistics applied and theoretical machine learning knowledge discovery and and reasoning with uncertainty and and the interface between statistics and and computing and and has published over 100 scientific papers Simangele Zuma
