I am only going by the observation made myself during my last visit to the school in
January 2011.

I urge the OBAs all over the world, to request the school administration to formulate
a development plan for future growth and publish it wider amongst OBAs.

Another unhappy event that happens in our OBA management committees is that
there is a non coherent attitude of not adhering or continuing the commitments made
by previous committees before they took over.

This is not professional and we should not promote this culture amongst us.

It is appropriate to mention a classic example here. In 2002/3, the house and the land
along the College Road, adjacent to former Boarding Master K.K.S’s residence came
for sale. The OBA UK at that time, initiated the purchase of that property for the
benefit of the school. OBA UK then had the financial resources also for it.

Unfortunately the management committee that succeeded after that year, did not carry
out that commitment for reasons of their own. I understand that the project has now
partially completed almost 8 years after with many struggles.

Every year the committee members work voluntarily very hard to raise the finances for
the school. They work at the expense of their family life and even finances out of their
pockets.

In the majority of cases, the artists who participate in programmes are the major
beneficiaries.

Any profit made out of these programmes, are the resources we have which could be I urge the OBAs all over
the world, to request the
diverted to the benefit of the school. school administration

Therefore this should be wisely spent over the projects at the school. for future growth
and publish it wider
amongst OBAs.
I am not sure whether there will be willing amongst all concerned to consider any
aspects outlined here and or its implementation. However I will be happy if this
speech can at least provoke the thinking along amongst the OBAS and force the school
administration to come up with concrete plans for the future growth of the school.
