We all must have clear-cut ideas, set aims, objectives and targets While sport can have
a positive role to play in addressing social cohesion, this is unlikely to happen if it is
organised or promoted along conventional lines.
I would like to touch upon two broad, interdependent, aims of our community at
present:
1. The development of sport in communities.
2. The development of communities through sport.
The Development of Sport in Communities - The main aim of such programmes
is sporting inclusion. The desired sporting outcomes of such projects can include:
Removal of barriers to sports participation in the community or target groups and
provide provision of opportunities to progress, develop sporting skills and expertise.
The Development of Communities Through Sport - The main aim of such
programmes is social inclusion.
Conflict and confrontation often occur together in most Social inclusions. This is
neither is pleasant nor acceptable, but organisations and leaders must be able to
manage with their strategic thinking (The Why-What-How Approach).

only if it is managed well!!
