P. 93

If there's one thing the 1980 CBA Basketball season will
be remembered for, it will be for all the games won or
lost at the buzzer. In almost every game, it seemed that it
came down to the final second to determine whether the
game would go in the win or loss column. Probably one
of the factors in those one point wins was the sometimes
loud, sometimes reserved, but always there, Booster Club.
We certainly received our share of TV coverage. It was
always the sports announcers for all the stations on the
late nite news talking about that great basket of Pat Burns
or how Duane Owens made two foul shots or how big
Chuck Sease really is.
Some things were truly a sight to enjoy; the outside
baskets of Pete Headd, the Mike Christie jump balls, the
defensive work of jerry Zabinski. The entire team played
like a team, the record is an indication of that, and it was
great to be back on top.
